Kitchen Area Rugs That Coordinate With Your Home Decor
It is easy to find IKEA rugs for your kitchen that will coordinate with your home decor. There are kitchen area rugs in many shapes and sizes and for many different purposes. Today's kitchens are most commonly decorated with a rooster, sunflower, apple, or coffee theme. Most Americans prefer the colors blue, black, or red in their culinary decor. Rugs come in different shapes depending on where you will place them in the kitchen. Some people like to use a slice rug because it helps to bring the theme of the room together without taking up too much space along with providing some cushion for the person doing dish washing. There are also Martha Stewart Home runners, which help keep the floor from becoming unevenly worn where there is a heavy flow of traffic. Most smaller kitchen will not have these because it might pose a tripping hazard. Another type of floor mat used in this room is the round type, most often a throw rug. These are usually used in the center of the room or to accent a particular area of interest and are more decorative than functional. One factor to consider when looking for the perfect kitchen area rug is comfort, washability, and durability. There are French Country mats made out of gel that will prevent tired feet after standing for long periods, while preparing food, chopping fruit, or doing other work in the kitchen. Some floor mats are made of cotton or polyester fiber. All of these types of rugs may or may not be washable depending on the manufacturer. Cotton rugs are probably the least durable and comfortable, but are preferred by many because of their natural look. Polyester and gel are both long-lasting and have varying levels of support for the feet. With the wide selection of Crate and Barrel kitchen area rugs available to consumers today, people are able to be selective in choosing which types will fit their needs. When people choose to remodel their kitchen or just need a change of pace there are new themes to choose from that may be more creative and unique than they have seen in the past.
