Many Cultures Present In The Oriental Rug Company

Many authentic, handmade oriental rugs come from many different countries and cultures. Most Americans think these are only from China or Japan, but there is a much greater variety than that. They are made throughout a wide geographical region which includes Vietnam, India, China, Turkey, Iran, Maghreb countries, and Caucasus. A true Oriental Rug Company sells only hand knotted or Albert hand woven rugs that are made with or without pile. Many are available from Company C, Claremont, and Nourison.

The main types of oriental rugs are Persian, Kurdish, Anatolian, Central Asian, Turkestanian, Caucasian, Chinese, and Tibetan. Depending on where the rug is made, the patterns, motifs, and color alternation can vary significantly. Many of the dalyn patterns are symmetrical, but this is not always true of the oriental rug company.

One of the most popular types of oriental rugs is the Persian rug. The Iran Carpet Company controls much of the commerce and study of these rugs. They have divided their motifs, designs, and patterns into main and sub patterns. These patterns can include monuments of historical significance or Islamic buildings, but have many other interesting patterns as well. These include Turkoman and Shah Abbassi and the popular hunting ground scenes. There are many derivative, spiral, paisley, and striped themes which are collected. Tribal, panels, tree, vase, composite, and geometric designs are very traditional and intricate. Occasionally, there will even be rugs made with a European flower motif or parks.

Another ancient oriental rug that pleases many customers is the majestic Tibetan rug. These are made by tradition out of sheep wool. The most common type is the Khaden, a three foot by five foot seating carpet. Much interest has been generated for the tiger rugs, so often given to lamas in Tibet with honor in their monasteries. These rugs are a replacement for real tiger skins, which are supposed to protect their users and are used in Tantric meditation.

One can learn many things from the study and collecting of braided oriental rugs because the culture of the country which created it comes through in the great designs. Most people do not realize all of the variety Oriental Rug Company offers when selling these beautiful works of art and plantation scenes. Natural oriental rugs require great care in maintaining their beauty and preserving them with cleaning.

You get beautiful carpets in India. Kashmiri carpets are famous however you get good carpets in Varanasi as well. I saw them during my trip to India last year. Sadly, I could not get back one.

The writer has an eye for detail. No wonder he has written so much about the Persian rugs. From the kind of designs used in these rugs to who controls the market, he has mentioned everything. I enjoyed reading this piece.

It was quite interesting to know the various kinds of rugs and the culture associated with each of them. I was amazed to know about the tiger rugs that are used in Tantric meditation and how they are given to lamas in Tibet with honor in their monasteries...
